Khizmet Bio

Khizmet’s first dance training started with Ukrainian folk dancing when she was a child…her heritage.  She danced along with her younger sister and brother and cousins in a small community in Northern Saskatchewan.

At the University of Saskatchewan she studied theatre and her passion for performance was solidified. While studying at the U of S, she discovered Ballroom dance and became a ballroom Dance instructor at a privately owned studio.  She had the opportunity to study with Stephen and Elizabeth Cullip, and Elizabeth remains one of Khizmet’s dancing idols.

Her training as a Ballroom dance instructor has influenced her greatly for her appreciation of dance technique.

Khizmet started belly dancing in 1999 but began studying more seriously in January 2000, and has been passionate about it ever since.

Khizmet truly finds her bliss in Belly dance, and loves to share the joy! One of her greatest passions is teaching, and constantly strives to continue to develop her own skills and inspire great dancing in her students as well.
